An artist often gets to see all kinds of places. The stone company I'm working with for my "Construction" series has the most amazing work space, with hundreds of huge slabs of exquisite rare stone.

'Without title' @ auction at KERK
On the 14th of November 2014, 'Without title' was sold at an informal auction at TUMULT in KERK.
The aution was an initiative of TUMULT in support of young artists in Ghent, Belgium.
A total of 20 works were successfully sold.
'Without title' - a one-of in white ink on black paper - was made especially for the auction and found its new home after a good bidding run.
Cubicles IV performance
For the cultural event 'Cultuurmarkt' in Ghent, I made one of my cubicle performances in collaboration with the Ghent City Museum STAM.
The entire construction performance took 5 hours, with a final height of 8 meters.
Don't worry, I've sped things up just a bit for the video.
France and the Balkans, 2014
In August 2014 I made two road trips. One through France and one through the Balkans.
Instead of taking photo's I took my sketchbook along.
'Construction II', 2014
Thanks to the collaboration with a Flemish art collector two editions of the construction series will be executed. 'Constructie I' has been presented on this web-site just one week ago.
We have recently chosen the stone in witch the second version will be made. As with the white sandstone we have decided upon a stone with a rich heritage. The beautiful and robust Belgian Bluestone.
Once realised this version will count over 1000 cubes of 15 different shapes. It will measure just over 2 meters high and will weigh 1,5 ton.
The cubes will be produced in September 2014.
Here are some pictures of it's black and white construction drawing.
'Construction I', 2014
Thanks to the collaboration with a Flemish art collector two editions of the construction series will be executed. 'Constructie I' has already been made in white sandstone. It exists of approximately 860 cubes in different shapes and sizes. (14 different shapes to be exact)
The individual cubes are based on the wooden blocks I already played with as a child. The final stone version is based on a construction I made in wood. It has the same number of components and thus the same limitations in shape and numbers.
Presented together with the stone version is a black and white construction drawing. This drawing is made - as are my other drawings - without a predetermined plan and with freehand. I used a thin brush and white ink on black paper.
I'm proud to present the first photos.
Little boxes none the same
Working on 'Without title' No.55, measuring 125cm x 200cm
Each shape is drawn without a pre-decided plan. On this particular drawing, there will be 315 different shapes. These will create the first layer, other drawings will be made on top of them.
